I have 30 minutes...

Lets see, I have 30 minutes and I can either rest, watch The Wiggles Yummy Yummy (my favorite) with Zander and Canberra, fold laundry, clean the kitchen or attempt to work my brain and give some updates. I owe it to you all who check daily if I've posted something new to say something...

Let's start with our trip to Torrey Pines. The drive was quick, the kids were great. We brought movies, which we only played 2! I couldn't believe that one. We had new coloring books and new reading books, new transformers and hand held games. They were filled with things to do. Also cousin Savanna was with us. They ALL did great on the way up. We stayed in El Cajon which was only 30 min to the beach. We got to drive by the San Diego Temple every trip to the beach. It was so nice. We brought plenty of food and bought fresh delicious fruit when we got there. Spoiled. Mouth watering fruit. Yumm. We got there so much earlier than planned that we thought we'd attempt to check out our beach for the following day. We passed it BIG time and ended up 20 min north TOO FAR. Oh well. It was rocky but fun for the kids to get out and let their legs stretch. We saw our beach on the way back to the hotel. All the kids slept on the bed the wrong way so they would fit. Hey, they are short enough. It worked out great. Zander slept through every night beautifully just as the rest of the kids did. I was very happy about that. The 1st day was very foggy at first and then cleared up. We were on the right side of the beach and saw dolphins. I never knew they were that big! The second day we went to the left side and it was foggy pretty much all day. But it was still plenty warm and you could still see the beautiful rock. Much better scenery on the left side. The kids had a blast in the water and took very short breaks and played in the sand, then back into the ocean they went. We had no problems with anything and the trip was very successful! I look forward to going again possibly next summer! The drive home Zander was pretty fussy. Probably knew what he was in for this time and didn't want to sit their. We actually saw a bad accident right in Marana, almost home, Canberra had to go to the bathroom, (we brought her little potty in the car) and we turned off I think onto Ina? The car had it rolled off the side rail would have landed right on us. Crazy. I guess the guy got a flat, we learned later. So our Torrey Pines Beach trip was wonderful. Not as much shells or birds as I would have liked but the kids were happy with the sand crabs, feathers and tiny shells.

School: Shane and Seth are taking off as I knew they would. They love it, it's easy for them both and they are adjusted to a big school just fine. Teachers seem to be great and as in any class there are good kids and some flat out rotten ones.

Canberra and Zander play just fine during the day. It's pretty much this: We wake up and all eat breakfast together, the kids play until time to go and off we go for a short HOT walk to school to get them there before the bell rings. I drop them off and walk home with Canberra and Zander get Zander ready for his nap and he's down for the morning and early afternoon. I am leaving out some times due to creepy people out there. He will sleep until 2:00-2:30 most days and I feed him lunch real fast and drive to pick up the boys. There is NO WAY you are going to get me to walk in the afternoon 100 degree weather. I'm driving man. When it's cooler we will walk to get them. I love the walk. It's great. So really it's just Canberra and I while the boys are in school. When they are home, they play for a little bit while I get dinner organized and then I take Seth or Shane to Karate. They are on different days due to times and their rank. Crazy busy.

Canberra is still doing great on her big girl potty training. No accidents! Super easy. Thank you Canberra! She is very much into reading books and loves us singing her songs. She also LOVES the Little Einsteins. She's not a baby anymore she says when I put on Baby Einsteins. So I have to tell her it's for Zander and I put on her Big girl Little Einsteins when he is sleeping.

Zander has had a bad yeast infection diaper rash that just won't go away! I've never had that type of rash before with the other kids and so when I saw it I wigged! That's a crazy rash! At least it doesn't burn! That would be horrible! But the doctor finally found a cream the Insurance Company would cover and he's on the mend. This morning he looked much better. Whew. It's been bad for over 2 weeks! He loves the word "don't" (thanks boys and Canberra) but he sounds so cute when he says it. He's going to be having conversations with us before we know it. Oh, and I am no longer nursing Zander. It's official now. 100% done. Not bad, I got to nurse him for 16 months. Now I would have kept nursing him but my body had other plans. Zander still wanted to but there was just nothing there. Poor guy. I am very sad about it. It was nice to have that personal time with him. So I still hold him every morning, afternoon and evening when he drinks his milk. I think I am having some kind of "important" "needed" withdrawals. he doesn't "need" 'me' anymore. (In this aspect of things that is) Anyone can give him milk now. I know I'll get over it.

Seth received his Yellow belt in Little Dragons the other day. I will get pictures up soon. They get their ranks 2 months and the Juniors go for 4 months each rank. They both are doing great and love Karate.

Daniel has a school break here for the next 2 weeks and then back to the books he goes for Psychology and a Biology class. He is loving his new job at Hanger and is learning so much! He loves helping people and working with his hands. Which he gets to do all day.

I just watched "The Inside Man". I LOVE that movie! It's great I think. (remember I have these movies edited) Another one I like, even though it's older is "Heat". Great movie. I hate being a perfectionist. I always find editing errors in every movie! Why can't people (editors) do their job!!! Geeze, don't they go to school for stuff like that? It's so annoying watching movies and catching an editing error. Oh well. They joys of being a perfectionist.

I have about 5 min left so I better rap things up and get the kids in the car.

  1. Wow what an update! Poor Zander, wasn't ready to give it up. ;-( I don't think Stanley was done either but cutting him off was the only way I could get him to sleep though the night. I think we are done too.
I came across a couple of blogs about doing little girls hair. I thought of you always having Canberra's hair really cute.
one of the cutest blogs was pipershairdos.blogspot.com
