I missed Zander's 8 month mark so here it is.... December 13th... Happy 8 months Zander!!!

I am going to attempt a summary of things going on here.

Zander: Has 4 teeth already and is still scooting everywhere. He is eating anything and everything. He loves food. He is still sleeping through the night and seems to be doing just well in the room with his brothers. He is pulling himself up onto everything. When he cries or is upset with one of us (like if we aren't picking him up fast enough) he likes to do a little spit with his lips while he cries. It's pretty funny.

Canberra: Has all her teeth finally. She is still in her crib and I don't think I will move her into a bed until she tries to climb out. She is in a big screaming phase of her life. She screams about everything. It's very ear piercing. Between her and Zander my head feels like it's going to explode if I hear one more scream. She is talking more and more everyday. Thanks to her brothers teaching her and helping her say new words. She still isn't into babies during the day, but she has to have her baby right in the middle of her belly just right and covered up with a soft pink blanket that she always has to feel between her finger and thumb every night for bed. I am trying to get her to play with girl things. I got some classic Sea Wee's on ebay. The toys I used to play with. She is liking them so far. It's need to see those and hold those toys again. Brings back memories. Seems like it was yesterday I was playing with those in the bath. I actually found 2 of the ones I had and am trying to wait for a good price on the green and white one I had.

Seth: Seth is reading! Yes, already. Once he learned the sounds of the letters at Bonnies house he just picked up on it in a snap. He loves the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. He is also doing very well with his writing. He loves Dot to Dot also. I took him in to the ENT doctor again because he was still complaining his ear was hurting and still rubbing it a lot. I went to a new doctor this time. And sure enough, he looks in and says Oh, this is infected and there is pressure behind the ear drum with fluid, he needs tubes. He also had a hearing loss from the last time I took him 6 months ago. So Friday the 14th he went in and got tubes in his ears. He did great. He is one tough boy. The doctor said he had A LOT of INFECTED, THICK PUSS come out behind his ear drums. Poor kid. But it's all better now and I have to say he is 150% happier and hasn't touched his ear since. Had he not gone in he could have had permanent hearing loss.

Shane: Is top in his class at school. Which is interesting because he is supposed to be in kindergarten right now but is in 1st grade... and is still top in the class with high honors. He is excelling in his reading and writing and spelling and math. They all seem to come very easy to him right now. Thank goodness. He is very into Transformers right now and was ecstatic when he got a little one for his birthday at the December birthdays on the 17th. It's been the toy of the week that's for sure. He is also getting more confident and said his line in the Primary presentation. As did Seth.

Daniel: Got a job teaching at a top Charter school. He teaches Spanish to 8th graders 3 days a week and just loves it. We are still looking for a better paying job and have hopes for January when BASIS Charter School will be offering him an administrative position. All they need to do is offer the right amount of money! So everyone keep your fingers crossed!

Me: Well, as I turned 30 on the 14th my body has been shutting down, my skin is all of a sudden sensitive, I can't do anything with my hands or arms for longer than 5 min without them starting to cramp up and hurt really bad, I'm so supper tired all the time and yah, how about that! Happy 30! Other than that I just get through one day at a time. Seems like all I do is clean this and that and the other thing with 4 loads of laundry every other day. No exaggerating there. That's what I do.

We are excited tonight. It's our first real family member missionary night. Daniel invited a young couple from his work and their two young kids over tonight to join us in our Christmas family home evening we do every year. We read the true meaning of Christmas story and open up little boxes with the symbols of Christmas in them. It should be fun. We are going to eat pizza first and then have FHE and then eat some dessert. They seemed really excited and so are we! Daniel had talked to her at the hospital about tithing a while back and she seemed real receptive. Maybe this will spark something or maybe not. Who knows. They are our age. Lauren and Emmett and their little boy Noah that's around Canberra's age and another baby a bit younger than Zander. My hand is killing me now so I best finish up. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! I will post again after Christmas! So come back then for lots of pictures!

  1. I love the pics of Zander! What a chubby 8 month old! Sounds like your kids are doing great. I can't believe Seth is a reader! That Chicka Chicka Boom Boom book really makes a difference though. Isabelle loves it. I am glad you're well. Did you get my christmas card yet?
