A week ago Thursday Shane got a spider bite on his leg that got infected and turned into a staff infection, he had to take two different kinds of antibiotics for his body and one for his skin. He took it for 6 days and on the 7th day this is what Shane woke up to, on Friday morning. Thursday afternoon he went out to play outside and had a popsicle, then he asked me why he had spots all over him. Thinking it was just juice from the pop I walked over and saw this, just not as bad. So I called the Dr. and he said to give him Benadryl every 4 hours and it should be better in the morning. Well, this is what it looked like in the morning. I was watering outside at about 6:30 and Shane walks out after waking up and I about screamed. Well, I did. I yelled at Daniel to get up and we have to get him to the Doctor. So we got an apt. at 9:30 that morning, the Dr. didn't have a clue what it was! It didn't itch, he didn't have a fever, he felt fine. So they did bood work to see if it's measles or sorts. Shane did so good. He didn't even flinch when they stuck him. I was more nervous than Shane. So the Dr. gave another perscription to take. A steroid syrup. It worked for a while but then it came back. So we gave him a blessing tonight. Still no fever. So that's good. It's not hives cuz it's not on the skin, it's under the skin, coming from inside his body, as the Dr. put it, his body is trying to get rid of something. They way he could tell that is when you push on the spots they disappear. Poor little guy. No one knows what all this is and he looks like this where ever he goes and thinks people are scared of him because of "his spots" on his body. He notices their reactions when they look at him. It's so sad. But he is taking it well. Unfortunatly the steroid syrup he is taking makes his legs hurt real bad, keeping him awake at night, also his throat hurt and mouth dry. Not to mention hungry alot. NO 4 year old should have to go through this! I just want to cry. I want to cry even more just thinking NO ONE KNOWS what's going on!!! So here are some pictures of my poor Shane. I took them just incase. You never know. So here he is, taking one medicine after another. No wonder his body is reacting this way. And it's not an allergic reaction to the medicine cuz he would have had the reaction while he was taking it not several days after. So the Doctor says. If anyone has any ideas please let me know!!!
